GOTR 5K Celebration - Confidence Through Accomplishment!
Girls on the Run of Heart of Kansas will hold its 5K event on Saturday, November 23rd near Century II, in Downtown Wichita. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in 3rd to 8th grade. During the eight-week program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections, and encourage community service while they prepare for an end-of-season celebratory 5K event.
Participation in the 5K event on November 23rd is open to the public and all proceeds from the event will benefit Girls on the Run of Heart of Kansas, supporting scholarship opportunities for girls in our community. This season, we are thrilled to partner with the Honeysuckle White Wichita Turkey Trot. This partnership supports both races at the same time and helps us to share the impactful work that GOTR is doing within our community. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember!
Packet pickup will be on the morning of 5K, inside Century II. The pre-race activities for the girls will begin at 7:00AM, with the 5K starting at 8:00AM. Early arrival is suggested. For more information about the event and how to register visit https://www.girlsontherunks.org/5k
